Huduma Kenya Pauses Services Nationwide Following Technical Disruption

Citizens visiting Huduma Centres on Monday, June 15, 2026 were met with a notice of temporary service suspension. Huduma Kenya announced that all centres nationwide were unable to process requests after a power outage affected its data centre in Nakuru.

According to the public notice, technical teams are working to restore systems as quickly as possible. The agency also apologized for the inconvenience caused to Kenyans who rely on the centres daily.

The disruption affects over 70 government services offered at Huduma Centres. These include:

1. Identification documents: New national ID applications, replacements, and collection of processed IDs.
2. Passport services: Applications and verification processes that support travel and employment.
3. Business services: Business registration, licensing, and renewal applications.
4. Social services: NHIF/SHIF registration, NSSF updates, plus birth and death certificates.
5. Huduma Contact: The 1919 helpline and Tele-Counselling Centre are also offline.
